Editorial Reviews:
From Amazon.com This 1991 Fonda workout works the lower body in two ways: 35minutes of low-impact aerobic dance with some step, then 25minutes of targeted conditioning for the abs, buttocks, and thighs. The whole workout is well choreographed, well instructed, and accessible to beginners. Fonda starts by giving basic directions for exercisers new to stepping. Then she bows out and a variety of energetic, capable instructors alternate teaching segments of the aerobic workout. They use the warm-up to pre-teach many of the moves you'll use later, so although the aerobic section has a lot of dance choreography, it's not all unfamiliar, and each move is repeated often enough to get it easily. If you prefer not to use the step at all, several participants show you how to do the whole aerobic workout without the step. For more intensity and a harder workout, you'll want to follow the instructors using the step. Fonda returns to teach Part2 herself, starting with traditional lower-body floor work, mainly many variations of leg lifts and abdominal crunches, followed by a stretch. - -Joan Price
Great Lower Body Toning!! June 16, 2004 I've had this video for about 3 years and LOVE it. The aerobics weren't challenging enough but the lower body toning is very difficult at first but I now do it with light ankle weights. Even without the aerobics portion of the video, it's completely worth it. The 20 minute lower body workout does a great job of toning the inner thighs, abs, and butt!!

Unbalanced, but still fun June 8, 2004 The aerobics section is fun, but for anyone who is fit, it is just too darned easy. I barely broke a sweat until I reached the "challenge step". That said, it is well choreographed, fun, and great for a light day.
BUT the second section of floor work that Jane Fonda leads is incredibly difficult! In fact, at first I found it almost frustratingly difficult and could barely get through half the reps Jane Fonda did. After 10 plus years of working out with aerobics, it's still hands down the best floor work section I've found on any video. (I DARE you to try it with ankle weights!) :)
All in all, this video is a bit unbalanced. However, I've had it for nearly 10 years and still use it, so it was certainly worth the investment! Use the aerobics part when you start out till intermediate, and slowly add in the floor work.
Only exercise video that has stayed with me! August 25, 2003 This is the only exercise video that has followed my moves through college and now into my own home. I don't participate in the aerobics part of the tape, I go on a fast paced walk - get home and start the workout with Jane. I have stayed in shape and enjoy the last stretching exercises.
Fabulous, Fun Fonda April 23, 2003 This is the first fitness video I ever worked out with. The tape was bought over 10 years ago and I still like it. The aerobic portion utilizes the step. The second segment is all legs, hips, thighs, and stomach on the floor. The video is led by 3 people in front of a group. They are upbeat and inspiring. During the floor work Jane leads with a direct and easy to understand approach. Within 4 months of giving birth I was in the best shape of my life! I am much more advanced and athletic than I was 10 yrs ago but still find this video beneficial and fun.
